What is the difference between a kit and a pattern? Our kits contain the pattern and all the wool needed for the front of the project. You may purchase additional wool for the backing or use an old blanket, flannel or fleece. Our patterns include a color photo, directions and pattern designs for the project. Also included with the pattern are examples for applique and embroidery stitches and techniques you need to whip up an easy wool project.
Do I need backing? Each penny rug needs to have a backing and we are happy to offer unwashed wool sold by the yard. Our selection includes basic black, navy and cream.
What is the difference between backing and background? The background is the piece of wool on which the pattern images are appliquéd. The backing is the piece of wool, (or fleece etc.) for the back of the penny rug. This piece "hides" all the knots and stitches.
How can I order? You can order on-line at woolpennyrugs.com.
What type of payment do you accept? We offer PayPal orders. We also accept money orders in Canadian Dollars payable to Wool Penny Rugs. Contact us for address information if you wish to pay by money order.
